About

Our Mission

To aid homeless cats(both strays and ferals) in Detroit, Michigan on an individual basis. We strive to treat all animals with respect, dignity, and consideration for their individual circumstances and needs. We believe strongly in the rights of all animals, including those that are not adoptable. We believe that euthanasia should always be a very last resort, and support no-kill shelters.

What We Are Doing

1  For Ferals/Alley Cats

  • Local Trap-Neuter-Return program (TNR) to allow feral cats to live out their lives as happily, healthily, and non-reproductively as possible.
  • Feeding, and other necessary medical care.
  • Advocacy.

2  For Strays/Adoptable Homeless Cats

  • In-home fostering.
  • Spay/neuter, and other medical care.
  • Responsible adoption and home placement services.

3  For Humans/Community

  • Education, outreach, and advocacy about homeless cats.
  • Less obnoxious homeless cats in local neighborhoods.
  • Serve an area where many other programs cannot.
  • Low-cost cat and kitten adoptions.
  • Referrals to other organizations if we are can’t help!

Please note that we are not an animal shelter, and cannot accept surrendered animals or unwanted pets. Also, due to the large quantity of cats in the city, we are currently unable to extend our work to neighboring cities. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Kittenaid Detroit is a completely volunteer run, donation based organization, and we are always looking for help! Check out our volunteer page to get involved, or you can always make a donation through paypal.

The cats of Detroit thank you!
